Lisa, Flick Emily and Mel courageously coxed by Emma Metcalf managed to row just over 50km in the Boston Marathon and it took us 5hrs 44 minutes. We DID end up with very sore bums and blistered hands despite efforts. Emily managed to surprise and amuse a passing mens 4 when nature called, but the madness and agonies were worth while and thanks so much to all of you who have sponsored us so far for Child Victims of Crime. So far we have raised nearly £480 excluding the additional £110 gift aid contribution. Many thanks too, to Andy and Elspeth for getting the boat there; to Ann for the bubbly and cheering on when we really needed it, and to Flick's ma and pa for the transport and very welcome barbecue at the end! Not sure we can say a great time was had by all but it felt like a real achievement."
